Hi,

We are Joanne, Mike and Angelo. Our family is delighted that you have chosen to read about us. Your choice to place your baby to a family through adoption takes great courage and a tremendous amount of love.

We met 13 years ago through a mutual friend and became instant friends. We've now been married for 10 years and our marriage is stable, loving and strong.

Mike is a patient and kind man. He has a quiet way about him, a very friendly and caring man, and is a wonderful father and husband.

Joanne is kind and caring, and is also bursting with energy. She gets a lot done in a short period of time. She puts God and family first above all and holds her family life close to her heart.

Angelo is 5 years old and a great kid. He has inherited the best of each of us. He is energetic yet he can sit for hours playing with his trains or computer. He loves outdoor play, especially riding his bike or playing with our dog, Izzy.

We know what it is like to make difficult decisions. Three years ago Angelo was to be a big brother, but that dream for all of us had failed when we lost our twins, a son and a daughter.

Our doctor advised us that we should not give birth to any other children. We are now excited about completing our family through adoption. We are open to meeting you, as we want very much to love another child. We want Angelo and his brother or sister to develop a close relationship like we both have with our siblings. We will do everything that we can to make them happy and provide a lifetime of wonderful memories for both of our children.

We each come from small immediate families. Mike has one sister, Teresa; Joanne has one brother, Carl. Both of us have a large extended family with LOTS of cousins, aunts, uncles and many, many good friends. We have strong ties to them and believe in the closeness of the family relationship. Our families have played an important role in Angelo's upbringing and forming his personality. We feel that children need support and love from all different members of their family. For us, open adoption allows this to happen. This process holds great promise and hope for us. Helping a child develop a positive self-image while providing nurturing guidance and unconditional love is most important to us.

We love the outdoors. Every summer we go camping up in the Gold Country. With lots of our close friends, we have a great time swimming, fishing, hiking, bike riding, and singing around the campfire. Angelo loves it. We have gone to Disneyland just after Thanksgiving when it's all dressed up for Christmas. It really puts us in the spirit. We have traveled to Mexico and visited states such as Washington, Oregon, and Florida, and Angelo has even seen Mt. Rushmore in South Dakota. We enjoy barbecues and picnics. We have an annual Easter Egg Hunt, which keeps growing and growing.

Living in San Mateo, just south of San Francisco, allows us the opportunity to take advantage of the fun Mother Nature lends to us. Going to the beach, the zoo, or jumping in the car and taking a day trip to the snow is just some of the fun to be had.

We feel we have a lot of love to share and dreams to build. We look forward to doing all the fun things together as a "bigger" family, such as playing in the park, visiting the zoo, traveling, holidays, or just staying home watching TV and eating popcorn! We would love to get to know you better and answer any questions you may have about us. Please call us anytime at 1-800-268-5991 or you may call our attorney, Marc Gradstein, 24 hours a day, at 1-800-922-0777. Marc's e-mail is: MGradstein@aol.com.

We hope to hear from you soon!
