We know this must be a very emotional time as you are making one of the most challenging decisions of your life. It takes strength and compassion to come to this difficult decision. We hope that through this letter you conclude that we are worthy of your consideration as parents to love and raise your baby. As this letter can only provide a glimpse of us, we encourage you to call us to ask any questions you may have. We met through our mutual hobby of snow skiing. Terry was the director of the race team and we met when Steve wanted to join the team. We became friends and later began dating. We were engaged when Steve proposed on skis on top of a mountain in Italy. We were married over three years ago. Marriage has been wonderful and we have grown to love each other even more. We are fun-loving, adventuresome, enjoy new experiences and look forward to sharing our life with a baby. We live in a large home in the Cole Valley neighborhood of San Francisco. We have extra rooms which we look forward to decorating for a baby, and we have a sunny backyard with lots of room to run and play. Our neighborhood has many wonderful amenities within walking distance of our home. We have a nice local park and are fortunate to be very close to Golden Gate Park where we like to go for walks, picnics and bike rides. The park has a children's playground, museums and bands that play on the weekends. Most importantly, the best public school in San Francisco is within walking distance of our house. Terry comes from a large close-knit Italian and Greek family. She is a native San Franciscan and most of her family lives near our house. After attending school in San Francisco, she began working and eventually worked in the wine business which was as much play as it was work. Terry no longer works full time, but she stays busy by managing rental property owned by her family for three generations. Terry loves antiques. Not only does she continue her search for the perfect antiques but also occasionally sells them at estate sales. Terry is very creative and loves decorating, sewing, crafts, cooking, shopping and skiing. She enjoys entertaining and is a great cook for family and friends. Terry is compassionate, generous and caring. She has that special warmth that children find comforting. She especially loves to babysit for all of our friends' and family's children. She looks forward to devoting her time to raising a child as a full time mom. Steve grew up in Los Angeles and we love to visit his parents who live at the beach in Southern California. Steve has one sister who lives nearby in San Francisco (who looks forward to babysitting). His other sister and her family live farther away in New Jersey, and we try to see them as often as possible. Despite the fact that he is an attorney, Steve has a great sense of humor, is a loving companion and will make a great father. Family responsibilities are important to Steve, but equally important is finding time to have fun. He enjoys sports and loves every activity that is done out-of-doors. Steve skis, sails, hikes, bikes, river rafts, gardens and goes to the beach. He looks forward to sharing these activities with his children. But for now he just loves playing with everyone's kids. He even has a kids toy drawer in the family room which is the first stop for all the children who come to visit our home. Together we have a rich life with loving family, good friends, a nurturing partnership in marriage and a warm inviting home. We have so much we'd like to teach and learn and share with a baby!
